All fields are unavailable for practice Saturday morning during our practice time due to field maintenance (bummer!). As an alternative, I will hold an "optional" practice at Prospect Hill Park in Gold River near the soccer field. Because it is not a baseball field we will focus on pitching and catching and work on our long throws and catches from the infield positions. Depending on time and the number of participants, we may also do some tee-hitting with wiffle-balls. We will start at our normal planned time, 9 am and go for about 1.5 hours.
Propsect Hill Park is in Gold River. From Sunrise (heading North) take a right on Gold Country Blvd. Go about 1.5 miles to Gold Flat Drive. Take a right on Gold Flat Drive and follow for about .25 mile, the park will be on your right. Also, here are some updates from the Manager's meeting last night:
- There will be 20 scheduled games for American League, not 16. Schedules should be out very soon.
- Opening Day is March 29. For those that would like to participate in the parade we will need you at the Cordova Lane majors field by 7:15. Ceremonies will begin by 8 am.
- Uniforms are coming soon - we are waiting for printing to be completed on jerseys
- Picture Day will be either 4/2 or 4/3, they have not assigned the days to each division yet
- There is a RCLL Day at the Sacramento Rivercats. I'll be handing out flyers for the event at the next couple of practices
- A Pitch, Hit and Run competition is being held at Cordova Lane, next Saturday 3/15 - flyers will be handed out at practiceSee you Saturday.
